Los Angeles is definitely getting it's fair share of this summer heat and we want our buddies to live life but live it healthy! Staying hydrated is so important in general and we all need to take special precautions during the summer months.
Here's some tips to help you stay hydrated.
1. Don't wait until you are thirsty to drink water.
If you are thirsty, chances are you may already be dehydrated, that's a fail. So drink in intervals to avoid dehydration.
That's right if you stay ready you won't have to get ready. Drink plenty of fluids before leaving the house into the hot weather.
3. Drink an electrolyte drink
Wait! Did you know that watermelons and lemons are full of electrolytes? Our HYDRATE cold-pressed juice is full of electrolytes for replenishment! It's natural and organic and with no added sugars.
4. Avoid ice cold drinks
You're first mind may go to ice cold water but cold water causes the blood vessels in the stomach to constrict, reducing the rate of fluid absorption. Try cool water it is absorbed faster, which is important to keep you hydrated in the heat.
5. Limit caffeine intake
We know you love your coffee - we like coffee too but caffeine has a diuretic effect which increases water loss and contributes to dehydration. Be mindful of this when going out into the heat.
Use these tips to minimize your risk of heat illness and stay healthy and safe on these hot summer days. #wedoitfortheculture
